Meet Annette Savage

Annette Savage is the owner of A Butler's Market

Annette has moved away from Prince George many times and always feels happy to return. She first moved to the city in the 1960s where she raised her five children. She loves Prince George and especially likes Cottonwood Island Park for the trees, the river, the eagles’ nests up in the trees by the river bank. She loves the sights and smells of Prince George and walking along the river morning and night all year round. She especially loves the people as everyone in Prince George is friendly.

Annette has been an entrepreneur her whole life. She has started seven successful businesses and is finally, and happily, down to one business, A Butler’s Market. Years ago Annette was given a large wooden butler that is her store’s namesake and mascot. “It sits out on the sidewalk when we are open on Saturdays and Sundays,” said Annette. Another mascot is the store pigeon, a rescue bird that is a well cared for and trained indoor pet. “This pigeon loves attention and has a great quality of life,” said Annette, “he is showcased in a cage but gets out for exercise and is trained to fly back to his room too.”

Operating her own business is a lot of work and Annette hopes in the near future to be able to spend more time with her children and grandchildren who are scattered all over Canada and the USA.

Creative. Unique. Eclectic.

A Butler’s Market is an antiques and collectibles market that spans 8,000 square feet and features over twenty unique vendors in downtown Prince George. A Butler’s Market maintains a clean and neat atmosphere and all their vendors are tidy. The indoor market’s wide variety of attractive antiques and collectibles are always nicely displayed on tables, shelves and walls. “We have everything here, jewellery, furniture, collectibles, antiques, vintage clothing, handmade items and art,” Annette said, “we even have a kitchen sink.”

There is so much to see in A Butler’s Market that customers have to come more than once and often return regularly to see what is new in store. A Butler’s Market has maintained their vendors and captured the interest of shopping tourists and locals alike with happy customers from all over the world.

A Butler’s Market believes in recycling and keeping reuseable and beautiful items out of the landfill. Annette encourages locals and tourists to come downtown, walk through their large scale indoor displays and explore all that A Butler’s Market has to offer. She is happy to be open Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year and to provide an entertaining place for antique and collectible shopping in the downtown core.
